The SPE San Joaquin Valley Section Invites you to attend a General Meeting in Bakersfield, California, featuring our guest speaker, Patrick Hayes from Tracerco.

Topic:                  EOR, CCUS and CCS Tracer Applications for Extending the Producing Life of Existing Wells in a Highly Regulated Environment

Abstract:

Enhanced oil recovery (EOR) in existing fields has proven to be an essential tool for extending the life and improving the economics of known reserves. From testing initial concepts through pilot studies through late-life evaluations using different EOR practices, chemical tracers are used to answer many questions towards enhancing performance of a company’s maturing asset.

The presentation will review innovations in liquid chemical tracers and case studies on how chemical tracers can be utilized to answer questions of remaining oil in place, understanding CO2 injection performance in gas and WAG floods, polymer applications, huff-n-puff and conventional water flood projects.

The presentation will wrap up with discussions for the application of chemical tracers in CO2 injection projects for CCS and other gas sequestration applications in old fields and other suitable reservoirs.
