FAQs

Q: What happens if I don’t submit a manuscript?

A: You can still present your accepted abstract at the conference. However, only your abstract will appear in the program. Your work will not be archived in OnePetro®.  There will be an option to archive abstracts and presentations (or just abstracts) in AAPG’s Datapages.

Q: Will my presentation be published if I don’t submit a manuscript?

A: Presentations and/or abstracts will be archived with author consent in AAPG’s Datapages. However, only full papers that are submitted, reviewed, and accepted will be published and archived in OnePetro.

Q: Can my abstract/presentation/paper be published in both OnePetro and AAPG’s Datapages?

A: No.  If you choose to submit a manuscript, and it is accepted for publication, it will ONLY be published in OnePetro.  If you choose to submit an abstract only, it will be archived on AAPG’s Datapages with full author consent.

Q: If I choose to submit a manuscript, what are the requirements?

A: Manuscripts must be prepared using SPE Author Guidelines, must not have been previously published or presented (including at another SPE event), and must meet SPE’s standards for quality, plagiarism, and non-commercialism. Copyright and paper information forms must also be submitted.

Q: Can I switch from “presentation only” to “full paper” later?

A: Yes—if you decide to submit a manuscript after your abstract has been accepted, you may do so provided you meet SPE’s deadlines and requirements, and the deadlines set forth for this meeting.

Q: What are the deadlines?

A: Abstracts are due by December 1, 2025. Full manuscripts (for authors of accepted abstracts choosing that option) are due by January 30, 2026.
